Southpoint
How does one interfere with history? Southpoint is a random place, an in-between place that is more seen than visited. The guiding principle for rejuvenation is to integrate its old form with its new state. The central axis sets the diverse quantities of space in order. Boxes cut the left soil and dig into the ground. Spaces are constructed in gradation with the landscape and with the intent to reflect both nature and social interaction. These cooperative events are the corpus of the intervention. respecting the integrity of the southern-most shore, where birds frequent, the island submerges: a sculpture garden.
